Five Under the Radar NBA Players

We all know the NBA stars like Kobe, Lebron, Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard.  They get all the press and glitze, but there are several very good players flying under the radar in the NBA that deserve more respect.  These could be breakout players in the future.  Here are five players BasketballXpert feels are under the radar and definitely underrated NBA players right now.

1. Danny Granger - Indiana Pacers
This guy can flat out play.  Just under 25 points a night and a 40% 3 point shooter.  Look at the improvement for Granger over his 4 years in th league.  His average has gone from 7.5 to 13.9 to 19.6 to this years 24.8.  Lookout as he is only 25 years old.  Now if Larry Bird will just get him some help!

2. Kevin Martin - Sacramento Kings
Maybe it is because he plays on the west coast or perhaps it is because the Kings are one of the NBA glamour teams anymore, but bottom line Kevin Martin gets very little respect and barely a mention on the NBA scene right now.  Look at the numbers though.  Kevin Martin is the 7th leading scorer in the entire league at 24.2 points per game.  He hits over 41% of his 3s and over 88% of his free throws.  Where would the Kings be without this guy?  Lookout if the Kings can get some talent around him or perhaps he jumps to another NBA team in free agency and makes a big splash.

3. Jason Terry - Dallas Mavericks
This guy can flat out shoot it.  The odds on favorite to be the NBA 6th man of the year this year.  He is basically a starter and gets the minutes to prove it.  It is Terry and Nowitzki playing a two man game in the closing minutes of any tight game for the Mavs.  Terry averages 20 per game and is one of the more clutch shooters in the entire game.

4. Joe Johnson - Atlanta Hawks
Will this guy ever get the respect he deserves?  He has been a 21+ per game scorer going on 4 years straight now.   Throw in 6 assists per game and he is the engine that drives the young up and coming Hawks team.

5. Paul Pierce - Boston Celtics
I know, I know. You are saying Paul Pierce is a star and I agree he is.  I feel he still doesnt get the respect he deserves though.  He should be in the Kobe, Lebron, conversations this year for MVP.  How many time this season has he flat out carried Boston to a tight win.  He is one of the major clutch players in the league and should be considered a top 5 player in the NBA.
